Description: 

The YorkSafe Food Handler Certification exam session allows busy people to study at their own pace and write the exam on a scheduled date at one of the Region's locations. These sessions are proctored by a Public Health Inspector.

As the client, you have the option to purchase the YorkSafe Food Handler Certification manual from one of our offices or download the manual from the York Region Food Handler Certification webpage.

While reviewing the material, you will learn about cross-contamination, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing and much more. The manual will help prepare you for the exam with review questions, case studies and content summaries.

A mark of 70 per cent on the exam is required to pass and become certified. The certificate is valid for five years.

Exams are available in English, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Russian and Tamil.
