Proof of Vaccination Policy

On September 22, 2021 proof of vaccination will be required to enter the following Town facilities as part of Ontario’s Proof of Vaccination Policy:

  • Iroquois Park Sports Centre
  • Brooklin Community Centre (excluding the Brooklin Branch of the Public Library)
  • McKinney Centre
  • Luther Vipond Arena
  • Whitby Civic Recreation Complex
  • Whitby 55+ Centre

As required by the Province, all patrons 12 years and older must be fully vaccinated, meaning you must have both doses of a two dose vaccine or one dose of a single dose vaccine plus 14 days AND provide proof of vaccination along with identification on EACH visit.

The provincial policy does not apply to:

  • children 11 years old and younger (proof of ID with name and age may be required)
  • youth 12 to 17 years old (proof of ID with name and age may be required) who are actively participating in indoor organized sport (training, practices, games and competitions), and
  • individuals with a medical exemption (medical note required).

How can you get your proof of vaccination? Download or print your vaccine receipt from the provincial booking portal or call the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900. More information on obtaining proof of vaccination is available in Ontario’s Frequently Asked Questions.

Please note that public washrooms in facilities requiring proof of vaccination will only be open to program participants.

The Town’s top priority is protecting the health and safety of its staff, patrons and community.

All change rooms will be open and available for use. To view the current pool schedule, visit whitby.ca/swim. The CRC pool remains closed for renovations.

The Whitby Civic Recreation Complex pool is not expected to open until fall 2022 to allow for more than $5 million in upgrades to be completed. A significant portion of this funding is from federal and provincial grants received by the Town earlier this year. Renovations will include new inclusive change rooms that improve access to aquatic programming for facility users of all ages and abilities; multi-purpose recreation programming space; and safety upgrades. The Town thanks residents for their patience as this work is completed.
