Come try out this popular, easy-to-learn, and exciting sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis & table tennis. This class is designed for beginner players or intermediate beginners who have never played or have only played a few times. Learn the foundation of the game. Proper grip, basic rules, scoring and court positioning from a certified NCCP & IPTPA Pickleball instructor. You will be able to hit the ball correctly and move safely and efficiently around the court. Paddles, balls & all equipment will be provided. This is a semi-private class with only 4 participants. All refund and program transfer requests must be made in person or by phone. Refund and program transfer requests within 24 hrs prior to the first class will result in a full refund/program transfer. Requests made after this and within 72 hrs prior to the third class will result in a prorated transfer or a prorated refund less a $5 admin fee.
Please note the following exceptions:
• Special events, one day workshops, out trips, birthday parties, day camps and waterfront programs require 7 days’ notice for a full refund or program transfer.
• All requests for pottery & tennis refunds or program transfers must be made 72 hrs prior to the first class. *Tennis permit fees are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by the community centre.
• No refunds or program transfers are provided after these deadlines without a medical note. Programs and fees are subject to change without notice.
NOTE: The nature of the activity is such that you may interact with other people who are considered to be in good health, continuous physical distance between other people cannot be guaranteed, and, by participating in the activity, you are at risk of being infected by a pathogen, including but not limited to SARS-COV-2. SARS-COV-2, which causes the disease COVID-19, may exacerbate other health issues and is the cause of an ongoing global pandemic. SARS-COV-2 is highly communicable and dangerous. If you become infected with SARS-COV2, you may transmit it to other people even if you are not exhibiting symptoms of illness.
Communicable Disease Health & Safety Practices:
• Participants should assess themselves daily for symptoms of common cold, influenza, COVID-19, or other infectious respiratory disease before attending a program.
• Participants who are ill, including participants of essential service providers, should not attend a program or access the Community Centre. If you are unsure, you should self-isolate and contact 8-1-1 or the local public health unit.
• All participants are encouraged to practice proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette by covering coughs or sneezes.
