Description: 

In this Village Vancouver Westside Neighbourhood Food Network workshop with Joshua Ralph, you'll learn to render Himalayan Blackberry + Black Locust into usable charcoal pencils. Stick around after the demo to use the new art supplies for some nature journaling! Supplies + journaling paper will be provided but feel free to bring your own sketchbooks. Project support from Canada Service Corps, Rising Youth, and Opus Art Supplies. We'll have a community seed library present - pick up some free seeds for your garden, swap or donate seeds. FREE

At Aberthau and McBride Park Fieldhouse, enjoy VV cooking, fermenting, preserving and DIY demonstrations, timely gardening workshops including Grow Your Own Microgreens and other plant, health, holiday, and/or creative eco-art and craft DIY offerings like Mini Macrame Wall Hangings, Cordage, Cattail Containers, Making Beeswax Salves, DIY Sugar Scrubs and Bath Salts, DIY Beeswax Wraps, DIY Crochet Dishcloths, Edible Holiday Gifts in Mason Jars, and our Invasive Species series - Making Invasive Species Drawing Ink, Making Invasive Species Charcoal Pencils, and Paper Making with Invasives. We also offer other activities (most of which are free) such as vertical gardening at McBride Park. and you can pick up free seeds for gardening. (Separate registration required for each activity. and all workshops are free or low cost for Seniors 50 and over.
