Description: Learn the fundamental skills to go from never having ridden a skateboard to safely rolling around. Level I focuses on foot placement, pushing, proper safety, terminology, skate park etiquette, and basic tricks.


Classes meet and take place at the Downtown Skate Plaza – Union & Quebec St. (under the viaduct bridge).

No class April 12.

Helmets are mandatory for all participants and need to be provided by the participant (bike helmets OK). Knee, elbow, and wrist guards are strongly recommended and encouraged. Please bring proper sun protection, water and a healthy snack.

Skateboards: Participants are expected to have their own, with a limited number available for use during lessons. Proper "trick" or "park style" skateboard is mandatory. No penny or plastic "toy" skateboards, longboards or boards without proper grip tape.
