Description
The Conservatory's Contemporary Dance program is designed to be suitable for all experience levels from beginners with no prior dance experience to seasoned dancers looking for a casual environment to stretch their muscles and maintain their bodies. We will be offering two types of contemporary dance courses: Technique and Choreography.

In Contemporary Technique, explore basics of contemporary dance from floor work, transitional movement phrasing, and traveling combinations like jumps, turns, and leaps. Also integral to contemporary technique is the use of breath, the development of presence, and the physical expression of the human spirit.

Contemporary Choreography is offered from 1:45-2:45pm directly after Technique classes. See the Conservatory website for course links: https://www.uregina.ca/cce/conservatory/group-classes/dance.html. You are not required to join both the Technique and Choreography classes, however it is encouraged.

Our Contemporary Dance program is led by dancer, choreographer, and multidisciplinary artist Karen Rose: http://www.karenrose.ca. In Fall 2017, she led the Conservatory of Performing Arts Music & Dance Project.
