The Blue Jays, Shakespeare in High Park, strolling on Harbourfront, the Toronto Islands, the CNE - these are all popular pastimes for Torontonians in the summer. For music lovers, the Toronto Summer Music Festival, now in its 12th season, has become a regular highlight of every summer, featuring world-class musicians and ensembles in a spectacular array of concerts, lectures, and masterclasses in various venues throughout the downtown core.
This summer, in celebration of Canada 150, Artistic Director Jonathan Crow has designed a wonderful schedule of concerts featuring some of Canada's top classical musicians and ensembles in a broad variety of great music, from various eras, created here in Canada and around the world.
This 3-week series will delve into some of the works to be heard, offering insight and background to further your enjoyment of TSMF 2017. Also featured will be an appearance by Jonathan Crow for an informal Q & A session.
