Like writers in literature and painters in the visual arts, each great composer throughout history was unique in their own musical style, approach, method and specialization. And like all great artists, they strove to reflect and comment on human life and experiences, given their own personal circumstances. Using legendary recordings, this course will delve into eight great composers through history - one a week, featuring Handel, J.S. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Debussy and Stravinsky - their lives, loves and music, offering what to listen for, as well as background and insights, resulting in greater understanding and love.
