Description:
Join us, from the comfort of your home, for this virtual program. This program will immerse students in a fascinating intersection of aerospace and civil engineering, the design of extraterrestrial buildings and structures. Using a modified version of Minecraft, students will be challenged to design and build a self-sustaining habitat for themselves on the Moon. Students will learn to use the Engineering Design Process to work through a simulated version of the challenges of space travel in the relatively familiar setting of Minecraft. In this class we will be using Minecraft JAVA which is only compatible with PC ( Windows) & MacBook (MacOS). So families need to have either of these devices available for their children. Students attending Minecraft Java classes will require having a Minecraft account for the computer. Students may use their own Minecraft account for PC. If students do not have their Minecraft PC account, they can choose one of the below options:1- Purchase their own permanent account here: www.minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-java-edition 2- Engineering For Kids will share a temporary username & Password which can be used only during the class. This option should be communicated by email ( yorkregion@engineeringforkids.com) at least 4 days before the start date.
Prior to the start of the program you will be emailed information on the virtual program links and any specific information relating to your program.
