Biography:Alexandra (She/They) is a Saskatchewan-born dance artist based in Vancouver, BC. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance from Simon Fraser University and trained on scholarship with The Martha Graham school in New York and EDAM in Vancouver. Growing up, Alex trained in everything her studio offered, including Ballet (Royal Academy of Dance method), Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater and Hip Hop. She was also fortunate to train in baton twirling. Alexandra quickly became fond of the sport and competed internationally, representing Canada in 2013 and 2015 in Almere, Netherlands and Abbotsford, Canada. She competed with the BSOFLO HipHop Crew in 2016, travelling to perform in Disney Springs and competed at Twirl Mania. Alexandra’s interests lie in collaborative creation and exploring ideas of a softer world through her vulnerable and atmospheric choreography. She loves to teach many different styles and ages but enjoys a contemporary-based class the most, incorporating movement patterns that help people to find the strength, flexibility and body awareness they need to live day-to-day.
