This workshop will help families to understand their role in their child?s IPRC Meeting and how it relates to their child?s schooling (Kindergarten to Grade 8). There will be hands-on activities to help families understand the terms used in special education. Information will be provided on:
What is the Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) and how do I prepare?
When, how, and why does this meeting happen, and who is involved?
What are the similiarities and differences between the IEP and the IPRC?
What are strategies for advocacy in the IPRC Meeting?
How can I disagree with the school team but maintain a positive relationship?
