Description: 

This is a combined course: Red Cross Swim Kids Level 9 and Red Cross Swim Kids Level 10. Participants in Level 9 and Level 10 may register in this course. Please inform the instructor at the first class what level your child is working on.

Level 9
Swimmers refine front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke and work towards swimming for fitness. They also work on head first surface dives, standing shallow dives, sidestroke kick and learn about wise choices, peer influences and self-rescue from ice. Endurance is built through a 400 meter swim.
Designed for children 6 years of age and older. Participants must be minimum age by course start date.
Prerequisite: Red Cross Swim Kids - Level 8 or equivalency
Next Level: Red Cross Swim Kids - Level 10

Level 10
Swimmers continue to refine and perfect strokes. This level provides an introduction to side stroke. Water safety information includes sun safety and rescue of others on ice. Endurance is built through a 500 meter swim and vertical dolphin kick.
Designed for children 6 years of age and older. Participants must be minimum age by course start date.
Prerequisite: Red Cross Swim Kids - Level 9 or equivalency
Next Level: Lifesaving Bronze Star (if under 13 years of age) or Lifesaving Bronze Medallion (if 13 years of age by the last day of the Bronze Medallion course)

Notes:

Prerequisite: Red Cross Swim Kids - Level 9 or equivalency
Next Level: Lifesaving Bronze Star (if under 13 years of age) or Lifesaving Bronze Medallion (if 13 years of age by the last day of the Bronze Medallion course)

- All family members complete a self-assessment prior to arrival; should any family member feel unwell, no members of the family attend the facility



- All lesson participants (and parents/guardians) arrive lesson-ready (in swimsuits); change room/bathroom/shower access will be limited



- Pool deck viewing space will be reduced. For the above-mentioned levels, a maximum of one parent/caregiver per household is asked to be present on the pool deck should they not accompany their child in the water. In this situation, please be advised that on-deck seating will be limited (please expect to stand for the duration of your child’s lesson).



- The participant is to bring all equipment to disinfectant zone for Hyper chlorination at the end of the lesson.
