Description: The National Lifeguard course is a nationally recognized lifeguard training program. The course is 40 hours in length and includes scanning techniques,
physical principles, victim management, lifeguard and the law, an introduction to filtration systems and pool chemicals. In order to complete the course, candidates must perform a timed swim (400m in 10 minutes), a 50m sprint in 60 seconds, 15m underwater swim, retrieve a 20lb brick from the bottom of the pool in 40 seconds and recover a submerged victim with a 25m approach and tow in 90
seconds. 100% attendance is mandatory to complete the course. PREREQUISITE: 16 years old, Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid and CPR C.
