Summer School 2020 has received permission from Alberta Education to proceed.

In person classes for diploma level courses will be held St. Francis & Bishop O’Byrne High Schools. Diploma level courses are also available Online. Alberta Education will require diploma level students to write an August diploma.

Students attending in person diploma level courses will write August diploma exams at either St. Francis or Bishop O'Byrne High Schools.

Students taking Online diploma level courses will write their August diploma exams at Notre Dame High School

Most non diploma level courses will be offered online.

June 22 to June 24 registration ONLY FOR CURRENT CSSD STUDENTS attending Semester II classes (Feb to June 2020)

Who Can Register:

- ONLY CCSD students currently attending Semester II classes, born after September 1, 1999, including CCSD students completing Grade 9 in June 2020.

Registration Process:

- Only CCSD students can register online

- NOT OPEN to non CCSD Students

- July 3 - 17, 2020 (for 3 credit courses)

Course Information:

Please note that Summer School courses are very condensed, with 4 hours of instruction per day for 20 days for the 5-credit courses. Missing any time from summer school will impact student success. It is extremely important that you attend every day.

Online course delivery through CCSD D2L (Brightspace). Course information under "Online Course Offerings".

All courses are not available at every Summer School location.


- English Language Arts & Social Studies – all levels

- Math 10C, 20-1, 20-2, 30-1 & 30-2

- Biology, Chemistry, Physics 20 & 30; Science 10, 20 & 30

- Religious Education 25 & 35


- Aboriginal Studies 30; CALM; Competencies in Math 15 (Prep); HCS3000 Workplace Safety Systems

Registration Cost: $10 (course – non-refundable)

Additional Fees:

- $40 course, Textbook Caution Fee ($40 refunded for textbook return)

I. 5-credit Direct Instruction Courses:

a. DIPLOMA – Textbook(s) to be returned on day of Diploma Exam

II. 5-credit Online Instruction Courses:

a. DIPLOMA – Textbook(s) to be returned on day of Diploma Exam

b. NON-DIPLOMA – Textbook(s) to be returned to your Home School in September

FULL REFUND – if course cancelled by District

Course Changes:

All changes to registration(s) must be made by calling District Programs – 403-500-2012 Extension 412

Course Cancellation:

An attempt will be made to offer all advertised courses. If a course does not have sufficient registrants, the course may be combined with another course, consolidated at one school, or cancelled.
