Recreational Swim - Pandemic Health & Safety Guidelines
All programs will have a maximum capacity based on physical distancing requirements. Customers are encouraged to book their spot in advance. Note: unaccompanied drop in customers 11-15 years old will need to be pre-registered by a parent/guardian on CORAL to consent to the terms and conditions of the program.
There will be NO changing or locker facilities. Be prepared to enter and exit the facility with your bathing suit on.
The admissions desk will open approximately 10 minutes before the start of the program. Upon entering, follow the arrows on the pool deck.
Customers will have 5 minutes to leave the pool deck after the end of the swim, and will exit the pool deck from the designated exit point.
There will be NO equipment for use. Swimmers may bring their own equipment (e.g., flutter board, noodle) for swims. All pool equipment must be approved by aquatic staff. Equipment will need to be kept with you at all times and cannot be shared with people not in your household.
Portable seating for your deck bag will be available but will need to be 6 feet away from others.
Shower facilities are to be used before entering the pool. Washroom facilities will be available as needed. This area will be limited to one customer at a time.
Please note the directional signage on the pool deck and other areas you may be in. Physical distancing requirements per Ontario government recommendations will be enforced.
Recreational Swims – Swim Admission Process guidelines apply to swimming. There will be no slide and diving board access this summer.
Lane Swims – Participants may not stop at the end of the lane if a customer is stopped in the lane on either side of them.
Aquafitness classes - There is limited number of shallow and deep end spots available for each class. There will be no equipment used in the workout, aquafit belts will be cleaned and sanitized after each use.
All programs at Ed Newland pool are weather-dependent. If the weather looks questionable please check the website or your email to be sure your program or swim is running. No refunds will be given once the swim has started. Account credits will be provided should the swim be cancelled in advance due to weather.
PPE may be worn (e.g., masks) however they can pose a safety risk if covering your mouth and nose while wet. Masks cannot be worn when you are swimming.
