DIY summer camp activities

The City of Kitchener understands some families are hesitant to have their children take part in certain social settings this summer. So, we’re bringing summer camp fun to you!

The City is excited to offer children in our community three “do-it-yourself” summer camp activities that bring camp fun right to families in their own home or local park.

Rent-a-Camp-Counsellor is currently available for registration. City camp leaders run an interactive, fun, and entertaining camp for two hours for up to eight children between the ages of four and 11. Parents/guardians organize the participants and staff bring the supplies and activities for a nature, sport, or variety themed program at a parent/guardian selected location. Rent-a-Camp Counsellor is available Tuesdays and Thursdays until Sept. 1.

Camp in a Box offers families four exciting options that bring classic camp programming right into their home. Choose between a Super Science Box, an Amazing Art Box, a Neat Nature Box or a Creative Combo Box, each containing all materials and instructions for 10 projects that will challenge children to think outside the box.

Virtual summer camp gives children live interactive instruction on any electronic device led by two trained City camp leaders on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Campers will participate in games and physical activities from the comfort of their own home.

You can register for Rent-a-Camp-Counsellor, virtual summer camp and/or purchase a Camp in a Box below.

If your camper requires an accommodation in order to participate, our Inclusion Services team can help. Please email Nadine McNeelands

City summer day camp spots are also still available.
